Civil Litigation Attorney:

Salary:  DOE, Competitive

We’re a business law firm looking to hire a smart and experienced Civil Litigation Attorney. We have offices in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, with the option to work from either.

At a minimum, the right candidate will have:

  • At least fifteen (15) years experience in the practice of law and licensed at least in the State of New Mexico (NM)
  • Experience in all phases of Civil Litigation, including discovery, depositions, mediations, motion practice, and trial practice
  • Experience and interest in leading and mentoring other attorneys
  • Strong experience in business and contracts law
  • A recognized, go-to leader in your areas of practice
  • A willingness to learn, use and adapt to new technologies as part of their law practice
  • The ability to work independently by taking ownership of and managing deadlines for their caseload
  • A collaborative approach to working with other attorneys across practice areas
  • A drive to branch out from their comfort zone by taking on new matters and seeking guidance from other attorneys as needed
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to keep clients up-to-date and in the loop

Additionally, the ideal candidate would have some of the following:

  • Previous significant experience in partnership, contract and/or IP disputes
  • Excellent online credentials and/or ranking, including one or more years as a SuperLawyer
  • Aside from being a member of the New Mexico Bar, boast membership in one or more other state bars

We are looking to partner with very experienced attorneys, who don’t want to go through the hassle of dealing with their own malpractice insurance, succession planning, billing, tech support, and the overhead of hanging your own shingle. Let us deal with the boring stuff, so you can focus on the fun stuff.

    • Primary practice in business law, including business-related transactional matters

    • Candidates with experience in construction, commercial real estate, IP, mergers and acquisitions, and tax are highly desirable to us.

    • Ability to work with a “paperless office,” and possess the capability to use the computer tools we use in the practice

    • A friendly and warm attitude with clients

    • Strong communication skills – keeping clients up-to-date and informed is important

    • Ability to handle matters for Spanish-speaking clients is a plus
